This course is designed to provide operatives with the required knowledge and understanding of the combustion process and the correct application and use of Portable Combustion Analysers for gas appliances.
This is a manufacturers requirement (Benchmark) at the initial commissioning stage, on all safety checks and for servicing or re-commissioning after replacement of parts.
The course is aimed at installers and service engineers who are in possession of existing Gas (ACS) CCN1 and appliance(s) qualifications and who are seeking to gain access to the CPA1 assessment.
The training course content includes.
- Key requirements for analysis of gas appliances
- Characteristics of Combustion & performance levels
- Correct setting up and use of Portable Electronic Combustion Analysers
- Practical application of Analysers on various types of appliances
- CO/CO2 Ratios, targets and action levels
- Appliance(s) adjustments
- Identification of Unsafe Situations
For Re-assessment candidates: Must be able to provide a current ACS Core/appliance/element certificate.
Expiry dates: ACS 'Re-assessments' can be undertaken up to 6 months prior to the current expiry date without any loss of time.
