This course is suitable for non-electrical personnel with some electrical knowledge and experience but with little or no formal qualifications.
The course is designed for those who work on electrical systems in domestic premises as part of their day to day duties and the course content is based on domestic electrical supply systems, heating control systems, electrical wiring, fixtures & components and testing of installations.
Successful completion of the BPEC Part P assessment will permit the candidate to register with CORGI or an equivalent 'Competence Persons Scheme' and self certify their work under Part P of the Building Regulations.
All candidates are supplied with a comprehensive BPEC Part P Training Manual for self-study prior to attendance and as a reference guide during assessments.
Course content includes:
- Electrical Safety
- Basic Principles of Electricity
- Legislation & Regulations
- Circuit protective devices
- Safe Isolation
- Pre-work surveys and electrical tests
- Equipotential & Supplementary bonding
- Power circuits and Extending existing circuits
- Lighting circuits including 2 way switching
- Electrical testing
(Polarity, Continuity, Insulation resistance, Earth Loop Impedance & RCD) - Minor works & Electrical installation certification
